Donald Trump desperately needs to be in the news incessantly. He has succeeded; he declared himself king. Seriously
What The White House shared on their X page earlier. Screen shot: the Whitehouse/X
It is becoming increasingly clear that Donald Trump madly wants to be in the news every minute. He will do and say anything to be an unending headliner. And he just did. On his Truth Social page, Mr Trump made a comment about his administration’s desire to rescind the congestion pricing program of New York City, insinuating that he is “the King”. You can’t say he has lame ambitions or that he does not dream big.
CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING! —President Donald J Trump
Suddenly, we are hearing the Chinese equivalent 陛下万岁万万岁 (bixia wansui wanwansui)!!! What the ancients of China would have said to their emperors.
After he shared that disturbing message, The White House, on X, shared Mr Trump’s gleeful text, accompanied by a fake cover of a Time-inspired magazine with the masthead Trump. Below that is an illustration of their man—ruddy, looking smug, in his uniform, and with a too-small crown on his head. Donald Trump wants to be a dictator; he wants to be king, too. Okay, we took the bait.
