Kate Moss At It Again

The model’s wardrobe, it seems, is being tapped once more. This time delightfully by Zara

Amazing it is that the personal style of Kate Moss has not faded from public consciousness since it caught the imagination of many lasses—and the media—in the late ’90s. Is her style eternal really enduring, or that charming? Apparently. So appreciable it must still be that Zara is collaborating with the model again for a capsule that will be launched at the end of next month. Details are scant. But the Spanish brand did say to expect apparel and accessories. Zara shared a photo of tousle-haired Ms Moss wearing a simple black, high-neckline piece with what could be a very narrow scarf. It is not known if this would be the direction the collaboration would adopt.

Ms Moss did say in a statement issued by Zara: “For this collection, I wanted to create the perfect party capsule—pieces that feel effortlessly chic but with an edge.” It is amazing that after decades of partying and some questionable behaviours in the throes of the accompanying excitement, Ms Moss, 50, is still doing party looks. And “perfect”? It is tempting to consider that an over-promise, but for most who continue to desire to dress like her, that could be the temptation they have not succumbed to since Kate Moss’s collaboration with Topshop ten years ago.

The collab is likely going to be nostalgic (is that not always the case with Ms Moss?) since she would mostly look to her past and in her own wardrobe for the “effortless chic but with an edge”. Her capsule risks being anti-climatic, a displeasing aftertaste, following Zara’s earlier collabs: with Harry Styles’s stylist Harry Lambert last month and with Stefano Pilati early this month—both sold out. Further to her comments about the work with Zara, Kate Moss said that the looks she hopes to achieve would be “mixing classic cuts with just the right amount of glam.” The latter is what deserves some concern.
