Here’s to a terrific 2024

It’s been a really wet day, this New Year’s Eve. But let not the wetness dampen your embracing of the arrival of 2024 or douse the desire you may have for a better year ahead, despite the unsettled and unsettling picture on the international stage. No one wants wars, except those who wage it. We do not know how the two major conflicts will pan out, but we do hope that they will end really soon. They must. In times of human hardship, it is hard—perhaps even flippant—to see ahead and imagine what the trends would be or what fashion would hold for us next year. But we have been through tumultuous times and emerged stronger. One thing that fashion today has taught us—if it indeed has—is that it aims for the better and the more forward-looking, while encouraging a culture that is more enlightened, and, possibly, more tolerant.

In this tenth year of SOTD, we would like to express many thanks to our readers and long-time supporters—you have brought us this far. We wish one and all a terrific and healthful New Year.
